Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment in the Gym
For women who want to embark on their fitness journey, it’s important for them to find a gym that can help them really reach all of their goals and feel fulfilled. This includes physically, socially and emotionally! The way to start is by finding a gym that fosters safety, support, inclusivity and love!
Why an all Women’s Gym?
Sometimes going to a traditional gym can make women feel uncomfortable and self conscious. A lot of the time it garners judgment, unwanted attention, pressure and comparison. Working out in small groups with only women helps to eliminate those worries and stressors of a traditional gym! If you are just starting your strength training journey, or are just inexperienced with the movements and equipment, it’s easier to learn when you are in a comfortable environment with women of a similar mindset. You can really focus on your fitness and strength training when you are in an environment that fosters support, encouragement, and friendship!
Building Safe and Supportive Space
It’s important for us to build and maintain a safe and supportive space for our members to workout in! To start, we operate in small group training sessions with only 6 women per class. It is lead by our knowledgeable and supportive coaches so that each person gets personalized help each time they come in. We use equipment and teach movements that cater to all strength and skill levels, so that everyone can get a good workout in at their own pace! We also have fun events outside of the regular gym schedule to build our community, like max lift days and other fun days out on the town!
Additionally, our group is diverse! We have girls from different age ranges, walks of life, skill level, goals, etc. and we focus on making it an inviting and welcoming space for everyone! We maintain open communication with our members through direct messaging and through our fitness app to make sure everyone’s needs are met.
Overall, our goal is to make the gym a sanctuary for women to be able to take a pause from the craziness of life and come and focus on themselves for a little bit throughout the week!
Doing all of this is a great way to empower women to be their best and strongest selves. By designing a safe and inviting space, we are able to bring women together and create a wonderful fitness community!
